Default Sony Announces Blu-Spec Audio Discs

Sony Music Entertainment, Inc. has announced a new high-quality Audio CD known as Blu-Spec. The new audio CD is based on the Sony Blu-ray high-definition optical disc technology. The new Blu-spec CD complies with the technology standards for conventional CDs and is compatible with current CD players. The first 60 titles will be released in Japan on December 24 in classical, jazz and other music genres and are expected to cost about $25 USD or 2,500 Japanese Yen.

I gotta give sony credit for trying, but I fear, like SACD, it will never REALLY get off the ground.

For sale, one s/h Betamax video recorder.

Practically unused.

Or p/ex for an eight-track music cassette player.

Hey Spotty, "all those years ago" I had to settle for a Commodore Vic 20 because I couldn't afford that 99/a.

I'm still in counseling over that issue!!!!!

Perhaps call me pollyanna, and of course with the economy the way it is who knows what's coming, but my hope was that people would get used to buying Blu-ray video discs and associate the "Blue Ray" with that.

Let's face it, we'll all be killing each other with bows and arrows over the last scraps of foods by this time next year....
