I once met a nice American on The Mall (outside Buckingham Palace) who asked me the way to "the Underpass".

PINKO LIMEY: Excuse me?

NICE AMERICAN: You know, where your Princess Di was killed. (said very respectfully)

PINKO LIMEY: But that was in Paris!

NICE AMERICAN: Gee. Would you show me please? (holds out copy of the London A-Z)

PINKO LIMEY: But that's a map of London. You know, London, England. Paris is in France. It's a different country.

NICE AMERICAN: Oh! (Looks at me as though I'm mad and am about to attack him). How do I get there sir? Is it far? (looks around for a bus stop)

PINKO LIMEY: You'd need to catch a boat, a plane or a train. Train would be quickest. You go under the English Channel. It's a lovely journey.

NICE AMERICAN: Oh! (he clearly doesn't believes me and thinks I've escaped from a mental hospital). Well thank you Sir! Have a nice day! (he moves quickly away)

p.s. I get confused between Guyana and Ghana. At least he had the right continent...
