Default Question on Malfunctioning CD Player

I have a super cheapo CD player that I normally use to listen to my music. It's just started both skipping and getting hung on CD's. It's not like it's one CD that may have something wrong with it.

This is happening on every CD I stick in. Can this be fixed or has it bitten the dust? Like I said, it's a super cheapo. Thanks.

i went out today to get a new one because I use it for music therapy and i REALLY needed it. I brought a new one home and they didn't put a power chord. I almost went postall.

That's a favourite trick here - the USB cable to connect a device costs more than the device itself.
