Hi to all,
I guess this is my first post, and as proper I'd like to introduce myself. My name is Nikolas Sideris and I'm a composer and publisher. The composing part of me I always loved composing, so even if I was studying piano when I was younger, I was certain that I wanted to be a composer. So, after graduating from a Greek conservatory I got a scholarship and went to London to study and research on a postgraduate and PhD level. I compose in various styles, but my main interest is contemporary classical music. You can read a full biography, see a pic (since I'm not allowed to edit my profile yet) and hear some samples of my work HERE <----- click to link The publishing side of me That said, I soon found out that being a composer is definitely not easy. It takes a lot of energy, most of which goes to the marketing side of things and tracking down potential next opportunity. Thus, despite the rough economic situation of Greece, we (me and a few others) decided to launch a music publishing house. It is our belief that there is beautiful contemporary music out there. Music that could be a part of the repertoire (for music making lovers, not just listeners), and while we also believe that the recordings we have are more than decent, we have decided to use these for promotional reasons (at this moment at least), rather than try and commercialize them somehow. We have less than a month that we've launched and we do hope to be around for as long as some of the other music publishers are (for example Editions Peters go back to the 1800s...)! We currently represent 6 composers (including myself) and we already are ready to sign with another 4 composers. All composers have composed some exciting music and are active in today's music scene. The general website, should anyone be willing to take a look (though it's orientated for music score lovers) can be found HERE <---- yet another link to click. I do hope that in the coming weeks/months I will be able to share with you some news of what we're doing, while trying to not spam completely the forums. I do not like spam, as much as any guy, but at the same time I feel that sharing a youtube link, or the news of a recital is not spam. In that vein I'd like to share with you the link to our youtube page, which can be found HERE. Thank you for reading and for your time. Nikolas Sideris |

Thanks philidor! For the welcome and for allowing me to edit my profile. It makes perfect sense to not allow people to do everything immediately after completing their registration, so no worries! I understand!

We're not control freaks.... honest! Just limited time and a determination not to spend any of it running round after robots.... or poor bu*gers from a third world country sat in an internet cafe spamming links for a dollar a day!

Absolutely no worries, mate!
I've been an admin of a big forum in the post and know very well the amount of spam that goes on in any forum...

Often on internet you get same solutions to problems but on your forum always is the best information. Buy Reebok HTC mobile phones viagra for best rumpy pumpy... This is not totally on topic, but who cares...
I remember a post that went like that: "Thanks for your post .". Some might miss it, but the dot is actually a link (and some forum software do not indicate it is a link at all)... The link leads back to this forum in this case, but you can imagine the hell going on. anyhow... Enough of this. I'm back home from Frankfurt and the Musikmesse so I hope that I'll have more time to post more things in the coming weeks! ^_^ |

Welcome!
I'm portuguese, I'm currently studying Composition and I'm, funnily enough, looking to launch a publishing house as well! Me and some colleagues are studying the project to assess whether we should go for it or now, and how. |
