I turned this piece of Grisey's off after 2:30 because it was clear it was going nowhere. I have a perfect right to do so.

Like I said - no matter what hokum theory is advanced for the composition of this piece, it remains simply a series of notes. Rhythmically this music is primitive, and could have been written in the C17th.
