Default Rameau - Keyboard music

Here's a tiny sample from Rameau's "Les Cyclopes", which I thoroughly recommend:

IF you enjoy this Rameau Piece; which I have at least 5 recordings of; Trevor Pinnock & Virginia Black amongst them, then do seek out some of the exuberant Royer, Balbastre & Corrette! Correttes Le combat naval remarkable Piece with simulation Cannon Fire!! And even a selection of Fireworks!!! Trying not to sink at the helm of the Keyboard!!

Nice, a Rameau keyboard thread. Here's another goodie, with all the trappings of a virtuosic mini - overhand crossing, repeated notes, cute menuet, dramatic 4/2 chords, mysterious ending.. haha, love the French character pieces:

Rameau's keyboard suites are greatly admired here. I started listening to them performed on the harpsichord; but I now find I prefer to enjoy them as played on the modern piano. (It's quite dreadful of me, I know.)

My hearing is such that I miss a great deal of the lower frequencies on the harpsichord, something which doesn't happen as much with the modern instrument.

Canadian pianist Angela Hewitt has a superb recording out containing a portion of the complete keyboard suites.

I really do prefer to hear all the dynamics & plucked tonalities from a real Harpsichord it simply resonates more with the whole elegance of the period and the concept of Salon Musique! Here's One of my olf Favourites... We really don't hear enough of J.Duphly!!☺

Fantastic! I even posted it on my Twitter feed. (I've never done that before). Looking for a good recording of it now.

Here is another truly dazzling display of Harpsichord prowess; heard this fabulous Piece by Royer LIVE! What an impact!! Supple dexterity and playfulness! What a rich plenitude of Sound! Again give me the silvery twang of a Harpsichord every Time!☺♫♪♫http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mC5dD...eature=related
