Editing posts

I wanted to add something to a post I made earlier today (rather than add another reply). It was the most recent post in the topic so far. But I can't find the "edit" button described in the FAQ, having searched the area in and around the post.

Hoping I'm not going blind! could someone please give a clue as to where I might find it?

I actually had this same problem the other day. I tried to go back and edit a post two days later and there was no edit button. Is there some limited amount of time in which one can edit? I have no idea. Usually the button is at the buttom right near the quote button.

I'm new to Brightcecilia so I may have missed something about setting up the profile or maybe the moderators have to grant access to edits. I posted a message at 8:13pm but can't edit that. Maybe a moderator will spot this. If not, I'll drop a note to one of them.

Warm welcome!

We've the edit post function set at 1440 minutes (one day). If that leads to gnashing of teeth I could extend it a bit.

But you also got caught in the "ten posts" system. To stop people joining the forum just to use the site as a link farm there are restrictions until someone reaches ten posts. You're clearly not here to do that so I've just moved you into the "ten posts plus" group. You should now find a whole new set of features open to you.... plus an edit post button.

Many thanks for the welcome and explanation. No, I'm not involved with a link farm whatever that may be. Sounds sinister! I was just worried in case I spotted a typo or, as occurred, an omission, and it was too late.

It seems a very comprehensive forum so it'll take quite some exploring. I hope I can say something here and there while learning from the extent of knowledge here.
