I must say, I am in
awe of the scope and breadth of your expertise... How many lifetimes did you have to live in order to amass so much knowledge???

(hang on a sec before you answer that one-I gotta get up off the floor first).
Next (obvious) question: In addition to
teaching film, were you once a cinematographer? You know stuff about Hollywood and film-making that MGM probably doesn't know!
That said, it certainly is no surprise to you that even more than newspapers, books or universities,"Hollywood" is the single largest and influential educational institution around. If you look at the last 40 years of TV for example, from the days of "Leave It To Beaver" (I assume you know who that is (?) till today with your average "family" consisting of a
single parent ,1.2 kids and the requisite dog, it makes you wonder:

Is the entertainment (
I am including the printed media and all the "news" agencies in this category as well-more on that another time) world merely a mirror of society, or is it the instrument by which society is created?
