An absolutely magnificent singer... once touted as the French answer to Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau, he is most certainly every bit worthy of the comparison. I have always held a preference for female singers... at least with this repertoire... but Souzay could surely change my mind. I will most definitely be on the look out for more.

I was uncertain about this one... but I actually like it... to a certain extent... although I'll most surely need to be in the right mood.

This one is a lovely pairing: the works for flute (and harp) by Debussy, and the equally "Impressionistic" works by Takemitsu... all in performances with the local boy made good: Joshua Smith of the Cleveland Orchestra.

I'm still undergoing my current obsession with French M駘odies. In this case they are orchestral songs by Ravel, Ibert, Poulenc, and Frank Martin sung by Jose Van Dam:

I have a recording of Rorem's symphonies that is quite good. I need to go back and re-listen to his music. He's got some interesting ideas.

Default Leonard Bernstein - Beethoven: The 9 Symphonies

Listening in the car, not much time for listening anywhere else.
So far I am impressed with the 1st, almost made it to the end by the time I got to work. Looking forward to hearing Eroica on the way home.

I really must listen more to Sibelius... of course I'd listen to almost anything if Beecham were conducting.
