Yes. Now isn't poor Carlos a total loser? Although if I was Elisabeth, I'd prefer Philip. Especially Furlanetto!Philip.

Oh, Posa too. He's adorable. Hampson was really cute in that Chatelet version (just that wig... ). Or Milnes. Or Keenlyside. Or His Silver Haired Russian Majesty.

Heck, I'd even prefer some Inquisitors to Carlos. They have a lot of positive things: nice black bass voice, absolute power, nobody expects them, and they can usually be transformed into Hagen...
