I love and admire Casals. One of my earliest memories is of my father playing the Bach cello suites, with him (Casals not the old man ) groaning in the background. Thanks for posting this link. It's been mentioned before but deserves posting once a week! Welcome again to BC.

First LPs I ever bought with my own money!
I'm sad I never met him. I did meet Tortelier and Du Pre as a schoolkid though so can't really complain..!

Somewhere I have a programme for a musical event (I think for Queen Victoria, but possibly not) that my great-grandfather put on and Pablo Casals is on the programme. He must have been a very young man, it was the 1890s. I told Florestan I'd try and scan some things in for on here. My main problem is that my great grandfather's cuttings book is a very large and very heavy leather-bound tome and my scanner is cheap and not very robust looking.
