I think its cool how this happens.
Basically, a design emerges out of pragmatic functional requirements, and ends up creating new visual art/sculpture in a back door kinda fashion.

Airstream trailer

Streamlined steam locomotive




Anyone else think of some other examples?

The radio, well its a nice radio and I like it, but not sure its sculpture so much as just really good design.
The phone, its just ugly
