The thread without classes and cats! 299 days to go, then there're finally FIFA world championships in South Africa!
![]() There must be football fans here! Time for a little prognosis and time to prompt elemental questions! Will France come out of the crisis before the tournament starts? Will England live down the last years? Will the Dutch finally be rewarded for their art? Will Argentina be able to play out their current great player material despite Diego? Will Brazil shine as they used to? Will Spain manage to keep up their inconceivable playing? Will Italy,... well..., be Italy again? ![]() What about the security down there? Here's my first prognosis, though I can't say, I have watched the South-American teams often these days. But anyway: Spain will make it! I can't remember a team dominating the others in a tournament like Spain did in the last EURO. Barça magic coupled with a tough defense. So - any input? Come on. |

Can a European nation win it outside of Europe for the first time?

Just joking!! But I do prefer the wives to the players or the game, particularly Coleen Mcloughlin. Any idea why she married a potato? |

Do you know which one that was, and is there a snippet on youtube of it? Talking about Wayne Rooney - come on, a man who signs autographs in a brothel a week before his marriage, has won my heart forever. |

Oh you silly Europeans.
Everyone knows the US is going to win this year... And to Philidor's question, you know what they say... beautiful women marry ugly men for endowment, be it financial or otherwise. A good friend of mine from college always had the theory that peaches were kept at the bank, and when you had a certain amount of money in there, they let you have one. The best available. It's like shooting fish in a barrel, the poor dears....Thing is, Coleen's smart too, and wealthy in her own right. OK, she got her wealth owing to her connection with the potato, but she's stuck by him (they were childhood sweethearts ahhhhhhh). |

Then how about sticking to footie and not how duuuumb WAGs are? We all know how dumb some (but by no means all) of them are. It's shooting fish in a barrel. They're just depressing stereotypes that reinforce the idea that women are as dumb as stumps and only care about handbags, shoes and chocolate (and money). And Charley Uchea isn't really a WAG anyway. Big Brother contestants of both genders are even more paathetic.
