Thanks for this - nice to see a really full review. Robert Lloyd singing Charles V is luxury casting indeed; he was Philip II in the first production I saw.

Heard it in radio - brilliant! And what a luxury - Furlanetto, Keenlyside and Tomlinson in one performance.
