Default The colds and flu thread

As winter sets in in the northern hemisphere, I think we need a thread to complain about our colds, flu, coughs and so on.

Having worked ridiculously hard all week, and looking forward to having some fun at the weekend, on Friday night I started coming down with a bad cold/chest infection. I feel totally wiped out. I'm posting from the netbook in bed. I hope the webcam isn't on.

Whether or not I am well enough for work on Monday is academic. I have a magazine to send to press and also have to set things up for someone starting work.

At least P has been an angel of mercy, providing nourishment and hot drinks at regular intervals.

The silver lining is that I can stay in bed without feeling guilty about it, but believe me, I have no desire to get up.

I recently had flu-like symptoms along with an infection that felt like I had a cactus stuck down my throat. Still didn't stop me going out and smoking and drinking however (despite already being lazy all week) and whilst the infection has gone, a cough remains.

Are you all getting the H1N1 over there? We're getting quite a bit of it here.

Yes, loads, but the hysteria seems to have died down.
