I get goosebumps just thinking about the final minute or so of the Slow mvt. from Mahler's 4th!
Where do you get that 'oooh' feeling? |

i always admired the 6th symphony of Beethoven somewhere in the middle of
the first part where all instruments play the theme and the first violins and the bass keep the chords! its amazing the ''additional'' work that Beethoven does till he reaches into that point

GOOD CALL.
And I know the answer. It's towards the end of the andante movement of Barber's violin concerto and you'll know when it happens. Where's that clip of Giora Schmidt? Even you men will be swooning. Frequently throughout Wagner, most of all (yes it's an obvious choice) in the Liebestod.
Various places throughout Die Kunst der Fuge, most notably in the unfinished fugue. Many places in the B minor mass and the two Passions. Bénédiction de Dieu dans la Solitude by Liszt. Also in the Faust Symphony, and the finale of the Dante Symphony. Missa Papae Marcelli, especially the Christe Eleison. Adagietto and Abshied of Mahler. Frequently throughout piano sonatas 6 - 10 of Scriabin. Stravinsky's Rite of Spring. Webern's Symphony. Berg's Lulu and Lyric Suite. Debussy's Afternoon on the phone. Much of Quatuor pour la fin du temps. Last movement of Schoenberg's second string quartet. Second piece of his five for orchestra. Climax of Holloway's second concerto for orchestra. Much of Adès's Asyla. Verses of Love, by Elisabeth Lutyens. + much else besides. |

I can say that you are right almost literally! I nearly did while playing the last Chorus from the Matthius P. Quote:
It's that melodic passage towards the end of the first Kyrie that gets me every time! [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8cPP-MKqxA0"]a quick burst of Palestrina[/ame] Sooooo much Mahler and so little time!!!! FC |

Eb to C major in the last mvt of Sibelius 5, you know the bit...
Horny in many ways (although I find it all a bit downhill afterwards...) |
