Default Lamperti Vocal Studies in Bravura

Hello,

I'm new here, so I hope I've posted this in the right place!

I've been searching for some time for a copy of Lamperti's Vocal Studies in Bravura, but have had no success. The only copies I've managed to trace are in libraries in the US or Asia, but as I live in the UK that's not very helpful

Does anyone have any idea how I can acquire a copy? As far as I can tell, this music is now out of copyright.

Thanks so much!

Welcome! Have you tried asking over on the IMSLP forums? I'm a moderator there so will help if I can.... The best place to ask is in Score Requests.

IMSLP already hold some Francesco Lamperti. If you say which library holds his Vocal Studies in Bravura someone local might be willing to go along and scan it (assuming it's public domain).

Any idea what the original was called? It might be easier to track down with the exact title. Was it:

Quote:
Studi di bravura per soprano. Translated as Studies in bravura singing for the soprano voice. New York: 1875

I think that's likely to be the original title, prior to translation. It was later edited by Estelle Liebling and published by Schirmer in 1942.
I'll see what I can dig up using the original title.

Thank you for your continued efforts

You're welcome... but it's not found yet. One thing that might help is if you remember those library links. There's a network of IMSLP members all over the world - it's a huge operation with millions of hits a week. One of them could easily live next door to a library holding the score.

Hello again,

I've had a search round the Internet and found copies in the following libraries:

A copy appears to be available at the University of the Philippines, Diliman College of music, but is not available for digital download: http://www.elib.gov.ph/details.php?u...b13d334cbe1ea8

Another (shorter) version can be found in the Fennel Music Library, which appears to be part of the Bonisteel Library in Interlochen – the link is here:

http://library.interlochen.org/rooms...tviewdetails=1

I don't know if anone here has easy access to either of these sources?

Well done for finding the links, and I see you've posted on IMSLP. I'm sure they're the best bet. Maybe put a note on his wall? BTW don't worry about leaving your IMSLP thread just sitting there with no apparent response. I've seen such threads answered with uploaded scores months later.

Welcome. I hope IMSLP deliver the goods. Not a bad idea to diarise the thread and bump it every month or so.
