Thank you for posting the link, Leonora - it is indeed extremely sad news. As well as the roles you mention, he was IMO an incomparable Captain Vere in Billy Budd.

He will be greatly missed.

I was shocked when I found out... poor man. He seemed so youthful for his age.

Best Vere ever indeed. One you'd just bring home and comfort and never let go. And a wonderful Grimes. And what an adorable Loge...

I was so sad to hear about this. He really wasn't very old and will truly be missed, it feels almost like losing a friend (I know that sounds a bit silly!)
