Now for me, this IS the version I'd naturally gravitate towards; sometimes there's an overwrought percussiveness to the Pianos attack, the matter of velocity can be overwhelming; I much prefer the silvery tinkle, sprightly streams plucked notes in a much truer representation of the Bachian Baroque Soundworld! I'm not very keen on Rameau on Piano either having lived with the Harpsichord Works for so long...some of the scintillating magic seems lost on Piano...now with Scarlatti when played on Harpsichord there is a much closer approximation/juxtaposition to the Spanish guitar timbres & textures which IS enitrely lost on Piano no matter how technically proficient a player is! Thus in conclusion, towards Pianistic Versions of Harpsichord Music I am mostly ambivalent, and by far prefer the Original format/Design & Tonality upon the intended Instrument!
