Default A bit of irony...

Today I learned a humorous bit of irony...

Charles Ives wife was named Harmony... Ives was married to Harmony...

Heh.

I wasn't expecting a response so soon. May I inquire what time it is in foggy London town??

It is 1 a.m. here in the Western U.S.

Just gone 9am on a warmish - for London! - blustery Saturday. I forget you're right out West so are a full 8 hours behind. Presumably things are just cooling down a bit?

Ha wow! I didn't know it was a full 8 hours. Watching Wimbledon, I was always a little unsure about the length, because they would play until 9 o'clock at night your time.. And I wasn't sure that was right, lol... Sun is gone by around 8ish here... But I suppose your quite farther north than I am..

It is cooling down! 94 degrees, or 34.4 Celsius currently at 1 a.m. That may sound hot, but its rather nice when the sun is down. We have virtually no humidity for most of the year here either.

Wow. Just checked the thermometer - 68F/20C and muggy. It's light here till about 10pm now. I've only experienced anything like that sort of heat in France and Italy, but nothing over 100F and always with humidity so probably no comparison. The whole place used to grind to a halt. Shops shut, streets emptied, shutters were drawn and everyone went to bed, to emerge at 5pm. Except for the English who'd walk round in shorts and go bright red...
