Actually, I'm more curious about his music.

Busoni is not an easy composer, but definitely worth the effort.

I would suggest that you start with the Fantasia Contrappuntistica for solo piano and then move on to the Piano Concerto (I particularly love the John Ogdon version).

If you're feeling brave you might then want to tackle his unfinished opera, Doktor Faust. You're also likely to be intrigued by his Bach transcriptions for solo piano. (You can listen to sound clips of some of them on his wikipedia entry, but not, unfortunately, one of my favourites, the Chaconne from the D minor Partita for solo violin, which I had to orchestrate as an undergraduate!)

Thanks for the info Chilperich! I think I read where some of his works were lost in a fire. I'll definitely check out the sources you've given me.
