Default What Have You Been Listening To Lately?

Every classical music forum needs a "listening" thread.

I've been listening to "Bridge Across the Pyrenees" (Flue Contertos) by Sharon Bezaly.

I've been listening on Napster to Richard Troeger courtesy of Despina. Bit of an eye-opener.

I'm glad the Richard Troeger discovery is going well! :-}

I've been listening to Prokofiev piano sonatas, courtesy of Mr. Richter.

Ah yes - Sharon Bezaly. As in philidor's famous declaration: "That recording of Syrinx can't possibly be Sharon Bezaly because she plays a gold flute and that doesn't sound like one."

I will never let him forget that.

She is great, isn't she?

I have been listening to my Mahler homework, of course. Is this a trick question?

Lieder eines fahrenden Gesellen I love.

Das Lied von der Erde wasn't homework but I have listened to it a lot.

I am confused about the dates now. Does Symphony no 1 start on 9 August or 8 September?

Actually, we should have started the first Symphony on the 9th.

I've been thinking about this lack of update notification issue and I have an idea that I'm going to run by Phildor as a temporary solution until they get the new feature patched in. Don't know whether he'll go along but we'll see.
