hi Roehre - i see you have been listening lot lately to
Hans Werner Henze - i do not have much by him, do have a piece
i recorded off the radio of his - i'll have to see what it is.
i know he was prolific - we should hear more of him (from others beside you and i) and his style is accessible

If you'd like to start cheaply: Brilliant has released the former DGG 3 LP / 2CD set of his first 6 symphonies (1947-1969).
A winner - and you'll discover that there is a lot of lyricism possible in 1950s/'60s "avant garde"

thanks Roehre, i will keep it in mind.
i think too many folks hear the word 'modern' and are thinking,
'uh-oh' ,when they have not given much of it a chance

on 19 June (from a TV show about Henze) /did not get the artists:

Hans Werner Henze - The Bassarids (1964-1965) - short parts of it- saw you (Roehre) had some songs from it

Hans Werner Henze - Concerto for Two Pianos, Chorus,
and Orchestra (1966),
subtitled The Muses of Sicily, based on poems by Vergil -
this sounded like a good (one) to get

The Cleveland Orchestra, conducted by Louis Lane, in:

Edward J. Miller - Orchestral Changes (1966)

Lothar Klein - Musique a Go Go (1966)

Alberto Ginastera - Malambo- final dance from the ballet
Estancia (1941), (and 'over the top'):
