Default What's Your Favorite Ballet?

My wife and I watched Swan Lake the other night and LOVED it! We've decided that it is something we would like to continue doing.

Was wondering if anyone has any suggestions as to what might be a good one to watch next???? Thanks.

I'm ashamed to admit that except for some contemporary dance which an ex made me attend -- she was in it, charging round like a heffalump -- I've never been to the ballet. I'd also love to and will read this thread with interest.

I can't stick dancing of any sort - sorry. I think it is idiotic to consider it an art form.

She is. I've been trying to expose her to Men in Tights for years and she's dug her heals in. Most odd.

I have considerable sympathy for this statement:

It's funny... I love more than a few examples of ballet music... but a ballet performance?! NO. I haven't attended a ballet performance in over 30 years.

Add to this the fact that one could make a case that ballet, particularly for unfortunate females, is a recipe for systematized podiatric mutilation, and I'm left with an "art form" that I'd just rather not watch.

I would never have thought I would like it either but I do. If ballet isn't an art form, how could you say any type of dance is an art form??
