Arguably one of my all-time favourite composers. I've not yet heard something by him that I didn't thoroughly enjoy.

Incidentally, two recommendations for his famous 'Organ' Symphony. The Mehta/Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra recording on Decca is a must-hear. And if you can find a copy, Marin Alsop's BBC Philharmonic Orchestra disc which only ever appeared on the cover of BBC Music Magazine several years ago (I've misplaced the CD on my shelves following my recent house move, so I'll have to get back to you with the volume and issue numbers) is, in my view, close to an ideal interpretation.

I have another version of his 3th symphony I can recommend (if you can find it): Jean Martinon/Orchestre National de l'O.R.T.F. with Marie-Claire Alain on the organ.

A fine performance, yes. But of the 12 recordings I have of this work, it's not the one I'd reach for first.
